We made it. To Wyoming, that is. Wife and I started from Seattle and drove 3,000 miles in eight days. Visited five states and one national park. Along the way we: 1) Avoided Montana towns Bearmouth and Anaconda for obvious reasons. 2) Drove through a snow blizzard in Butte, Mont. The city was once called the Richest Hill in the World because of the mining wealth it generated. The railroad and hotel signs (left and below) were shot in Butte. 3) Met Paul Dolan (above), owner of Cook's Radiator Shop in Baker City, Oregon. The photo he's holding was shot outside the shop in the 1930s. 4) Drove through rock formations in Yellowstone that  look, well, yellow. 5) Saw lots of cowboy boots in Cheyenne, Wy., where we stopped to see our daughter. 6) Drove through a monster electrical storm outside Twin Falls, Idaho, and past an RV engulged in flames on Interstate 84 near Boise. Never a dull moment.
