Sometimes a good photography location can be found without any advance work. You just get in the car and go. Perhaps you turn down a road or street you've never been on before. That's how I found these locations. The farmhouse is in Washington wheat country. As I took pictures of the boxcar in a Pendleton, Ore., railyard a security guard approached and asked what I was doing. "Taking pictures, sir." He suggested I move along.
