Barns are scattered across the Waterville Plateau in north-central Washington state. Many of them are abandoned and showing their age like these two. But that's the beauty of them. The fact that many are still standing is a gift. It's like traveling back in time to get a glimpse of what life was like here 50 to 100 years ago. These barns are retired but farmers still work the fields. The windmill is on a wheat farm I also visted in 2022. During that stop I met a man in his 90s. Told me his relatives moved here from Denmark in the 1800s. On this recent stop he came out and we talked once again.
