The high desert in north central Washington is my favorite photography location in the state. It's only a 40-minute drive from my house so I'm able to visit it frequently spring through fall. The cabin above was built in the late 1800s. As I was leaving a deer darted in front of my Honda CRV and disappeared over a hill. I found the antique gas pump in the town of Mansfield. The grange hall is off U.S. 2 east of Waterville. It was built in 1912. It burned down in 1914 and was rebuilt in 1917. It still serves the community but I have never seen it occupied.
