I'll say what's obvious: I'm drawn to old gas pumps. Rusty, crusty ones especially. That's why I couldn't resist the one at a mom-and-pop car dealership (above) in Wenatchee, Wash. The old building used to be a gas station but this rusty pump was added to the property later. It's one of many antiques
scattered around the property. The price per gallon on the Conoco pump reads 49 cents. Seven years ago I took pictures of a Phillips 66 pump with the identical price per gallon (right). The pump is located at an abandoned farm 166 miles away in the town of Hay, population 11. I returned to the location in 2020. The color of the pump had turned pink from sun exposure.
