In 2019 I moved to north-central Washington from Seattle. It feels like home. It used to take me three hours to get here. Now the wheat fields are a 10-minute drive from my front door. I live in a Norman Rockwell painting. Americana scenes and themes are everywhere. Like the Empire Theater in Lind, a wheat town to the east. It closed in 1980 but the peeling sign is like abstract art to me. The flag and GMC truck reflect the down-home feel you get in the Wenatchee Valley.
