In late August 2019 my wife and I moved from the Seattle area to East Wenatchee, an agricultural reigon in central Wasington. I went from stepping over drug needles on Seattle sidewalks to the calm and sanity of small-town America. We live in a Norman Rockwell painting. Americana themes are everywhere. Like the Empire Theater in Lind, a wheat town to the east. It closed in 1980 but the peeling sign still towers over main street. I took the photo in the middle of main street. I'm glad it survived. To me it's abstract art. The old truck is not far from our house. The flag mural is across the Columbia River in the city of Wenatchee. I'll say what's obvious. We are not in Seattle anymore. I'm grateful.
