Wheat farming in north-central Washington is a grueling, challenging lifestyle. And apparently also a healthy one. A farmer told me the last person to live in the pioneer home below was in her 90s. Several miles away two sisters in their 90s reportedly had occupied an old farmhouse in the middle of a wheat field. When I was done photographing the silos above I looked behind me and saw a working farm a mile away. I drove by but didn't see anybody. Considering the longevity around here I was hoping to extend Spock's Star Trek salutation: Live long and prosper.
