Seattle's rain apocalypse, which broke a 122-year rainfall record last winter, is behind us. Now we're getting sun fatigue. No one is complaining but harsh sun isn't ideal for outdoor photography. But we did get a brief break: cool, overcast conditions for several mornings. I grabbed my gear and headed to the towns of Silvana and Stanwood. They are surrounded by farmland. The Hamilton Lumber Co. smokestack in Stanwood was built in 1927. The Chevy Beretta with the 1996 campaign sticker is parked in a farm garage near Silvana. The restaurant in Stanwood is a reflection of the town's Scandinavian heritage.
