The Palouse is a land frozen in time. Old cars, barns, homesteads and windmills are scattered across the wheatlands of Washington state. One of my favorite stops is an abandoned farm north of Washtucna (above). I take this shot at dusk as a full moon climbs above the pink haze. Everything is still. I put my camera gear down and watch in awe. The gas pump sits on a hill at an abandoned farm near the farming town of Hay, population 11.
