Seven months ago I was serenaded by a single songbird at this abandoned wheat farm in eastern Washington. The private concert lasted a minute. This recent trip I was treated to an air show. A large hawk with golden wings and brown markings soared in sweeping circles above me. As a film shooter my only regret was not having a DSLR with auto focus to capture the moment. My film gear has limitations. But at least I got to witness it. The hawk was free as a bird. So was I marveling at God's amazing creation.
